Departure from Ponta Delgada towards the eastern part of the island. Stop at the viewpoint of Santa Iria for a view of the island's north coast. Continue along the north coast, stopping at the Ribeira dos Caldeirões where you can see one of the still existing water mills on the island and the refreshing cascade of Ribeira dos Caldeirões. Continue along the north coast towards to the village of Nordeste. Stop in the village for lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Forest Park of Cinzeiro and visit the Environmental Interpretation Center of the Azorean Bulfinch. It is an educational and visitors center, it's main mission is to contribute for the general understanding of the Priolo and its habitat, Azorean Laurel Forest, and their conservation. Priolo is one of the most threatened birds in Europe, being only present in the eastern part of São Miguel Island in the Azores. Return by the east coast with stops in Ponta da Madrugada viewpoint and the town of Povoação. Short stop at the crater lake of Furnas to stretch your legs and return to Ponta Delgada.
