Program Description
A walking tour of Assisi, considered the city of peace, will begin with a meeting at Piazza Matteotti 9. The first item on the agenda will be a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis, one of the most important religious and artistic attractions in Italy. Then, heading to Piazza del Comune, you will be able to admire the ruins of the Roman forum and the remains of the ancient temple of Minerva. The next stop is the Piazza Chiesa Nuova, which features the church of the same name with an impressive dome, representing the Renaissance style. The final stage of the tour is to walk past the Oratory of San Francesco Piccolino, which is a religious building located in the center of the city, and pass by the Basilica of St. Clare.
