Program Description

Amsterdam is home to countless stories, but few are as moving as that of Anne Frank. During this guided walking tour, you will discover places connected with her life while learning about the city's experiences and the lives of its residents during World War II. It is a unique opportunity to see Amsterdam from a completely different perspective.

Together with your guide, you will pass by the Anne Frank House, where Anne, her family and four other people remained hidden from Nazi persecution for more than two years. Although the house is not visited from the inside, you will learn about its remarkable history and discover how Anne's diary became one of the most powerful and widely read testimonies of the Holocaust.

Your walk continues through Amsterdam's Jewish Quarter, where you will hear about centuries of Jewish heritage as well as the events that unfolded during the Nazi occupation. As you explore this historic neighbourhood, you will gain a deeper understanding of both the city's rich cultural legacy and the experiences of its residents during the war.

Along the way, you will also see the Anne Frank Statue, the National Monument, Zuiderkerk, the Portuguese Synagogue, the Auschwitz Monument and the National Holocaust Names Monument. Each of these landmarks tells part of Amsterdam's story and serves as a reminder of the importance of remembrance, freedom and tolerance.

The itinerary and programme are subject to change.
