Hotel pickup. The tour begins with a drive to the village of Taqah, home to Taqah Castle, one of Dhofar's most important historical landmarks, built in the 19th century. The fortress was once the residence of the local governor. In addition to the castle, you can also visit Burj Al Askar and Koofan Heritage House, both open to visitors for an additional fee. A walk through the coastal village of Taqah offers a glimpse into traditional Omani life. Next, visit Taqah Beach, which provides a breathtaking view of the cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea. The journey continues to Wadi Darbat, a natural river valley featuring numerous waterfalls and striking rock formations. Enjoy free time or opt to rent kayaks or boats on the lake (optional, at an additional cost). The valley’s lush greenery offers a refreshing contrast to the surrounding desert landscape. Another highlight is Tawi Attair Sinkhole, known as the “Well of the Birds,” a massive sinkhole approximately 211 meters deep, home to various bird species. The next stop is the viewpoint at Mount Samhan, the highest peak in the Dhofar region, offering stunning panoramic views. A break for lunch follows. The tour then continues through Wadi Hinna, a hidden gem with a small cluster of ancient baobab trees—a rare sight in this region. Also on the itinerary is Ayn Hasheer, a waterfall that is particularly beautiful after the rainy season. Finally, experience the mysterious anti-gravity point, where cars appear to move uphill without any engine power. Return to hotels.
