Program Description

Pamukkale, Located 20 kilometers from the town of Denizli in the Aegean region of Turkey, Pamukkale is one of the most interesting places in the world, justly famous not only for the entrancing beauty of its unique geological formations but also for its historical remains. The calcium oxide-rich waters flowing down the southern slope of Cadlag located north of the ruins have, over the millennia, built up deposits of white travertine on the plateau thus fully justifying both the site's ancient name of Hierapolis (Holy City) and its modern one of Pamukkale (Cotton Castle).

Pamukkale is an extraordinary wonder of nature. The calculous water rise from the ground at a temperature of 36,5 Celsius degrees and tumbles down the mountain from a height of 100 meters, forming a myriad of pools. Cream- colored stalactites are formed as the water overflows the pools, creating a breath – taking sight unequalled in the world. Water is the architect of this gleaming fairy – castle resembling cotton or spring which are recommended in the treatment of heart diseases, circulatory problems, high blood pressure, nervous disorders, rheumatism, eye and skin diseases, nervous and physical exhaustion, digestive maladies and nutritional disorders.

After pick up from the hotel, we start our journey to Pamukkale, which takes about 3 – 3,5 hours, with break on the way for breakfast. First we will make Balloon ride tour. After breakfast we visit Red Springs, just outside Pamukkale – boiling waters of which have emerged from thousands of feet below the Earth’s surface to form ribbons of deep red, blue and yellow on the surrounding rocks. Next we visit the ruins of Hierapolis – the Theatre, The Temple of Apollo, Christian Basilica, the ancient agora (market). This is the largest ancient graveyard in Anatolia with more than 1200 tombs that range in date from the late Hellenistic period to early Christian times. We will then view the calcite terraces of Pamukkale, you will have free time to explore them.
