Program Description

Discover two fascinating sides of Cyprus on an excursion that combines a visit to the traditional village of Lefkara with time in Nicosia, the last divided capital in Europe. This tour offers an insight into the island’s history, culture and everyday life.

The first stop is Lefkara, a picturesque village renowned for its handmade Lefkaritika lace and traditional silver craftsmanship. A walk through its narrow streets provides an opportunity to admire stone-built houses and experience the atmosphere of one of Cyprus’ most distinctive villages.

The tour then continues to Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. During your visit, you will see the Cathedral of St. John, dating back to the 17th century and famous for its impressive frescoes depicting religious scenes and events from the island’s history.

Next, you will explore Laiki Geitonia, a restored neighbourhood located within the historic city walls. Its narrow streets, traditional architecture and local cafés create an authentic atmosphere and offer a glimpse into the city’s past.

Together with your guide, you will walk along Ledra Street towards the buffer zone known as the Green Line, which has divided the city into its southern and northern parts for decades.

After the guided tour, there will be free time to enjoy lunch, browse the local shops or continue exploring the historic centre at your own pace.

Following the free time, you will return to your hotel.

The order of visits and the programme may change.
