Program Description
Visit the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs in Cordoba and discover the history of one of the city's most important royal residences. During a guided tour with a local guide, learn more about the palace's former residents, its architecture and the events that have shaped the site over the centuries.
The Alcázar served as a royal residence and later housed the Courts of the Holy Office as well as civil and military prisons. During the visit, you will learn about the site's history and see its distinctive features, including mosaics, frescoes and views from the tower and palace windows.
After exploring the history and architecture of the palace, take a walk through the historic gardens of the Alcázar. Discover their canals, fountains and orange trees, as well as the Paseo de los Reyes - an avenue lined with statues of kings and queens associated with the history of the Alcázar.
Due to ongoing renovation works, some rooms inside the Alcázar are currently closed to visitors. The tour therefore includes a visit to the historic gardens and the Christopher Columbus monolith.
The experience also includes a visit to the Caliphal Baths of the Alcázar, offering an insight into the heritage of the Caliphate period.
The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.
