Program Description

Discover a different side of Djerba on a tour showcasing the island's rich history, culture and most fascinating landmarks. Travelling by comfortable coach, you will visit historic sites, traditional villages and the lively capital of the island.

Your first stop is El Kantara, the historic Roman causeway linking Djerba with the Tunisian mainland. Here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding landscapes.

The journey continues to Guellala, a town renowned for its centuries-old pottery tradition. At the Museum of the Traditional Heritage of Djerba, you will learn about local customs, traditional clothing and the island's cultural heritage. You will also see workshops where Djerba's famous ceramics are still produced.

Next, visit Djerbahood in the village of Erriadh, an open-air street art gallery where murals created by artists from around the world decorate the walls of traditional houses, creating one of the island's most colourful attractions.

The tour concludes in Houmt Souk, the island's vibrant capital, where you will have free time to browse the traditional bazaar, shop for souvenirs or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere.

The guide speaks very little Polish, making it difficult to understand him at times. He didn`t say a word about the murals; he was on the phone the entire time during this part of the tour.

Indeed, as the name suggests, Djerba was shown at lightning speed. Overall, the tour was okay. The guide was Tunisian, with a slight language barrier, and the message wasn`t entirely clear. ...
